The United Motorcoach Association (UMA)’s annual Motorcoach EXPO will be held in Birmingham, Alabama at the BJCC Feb. 11–14, 2026, marking the first time the EXPO comes to the city and underscoring Birmingham’s growing role as a host for major national industry gatherings.
The UMA EXPO brings together over 1,000 motorcoach professionals from across North America for four days of education, networking and exhibits, generating more than 2,500 total room nights across the city. Attendees will engage in hands-on workshops, in-depth educational sessions, and explore the latest products and services designed to advance safe, successful and innovative motorcoach operations.
“EXPO’s attendance has been stronger than past years in other cities, with a lot of excitement from our members to come to Birmingham,” said Scott Michael, president & CEO of UMA. “The city’s welcoming hospitality, accessibility and collaborative spirit make it a high-value destination for our members and partners. Plus, it’s within driving distance for many of our Southeastern motorcoach operators, which adds a layer of convenience that supports strong attendance.”
The announcement holds special significance for UMA Board Chair Alan Thrasher, a Birmingham native and president of Thrasher Brothers Trailways.
“It’s exciting to welcome UMA to my hometown,” said Thrasher. “Alabama is rich in culture, history and Southern hospitality, and Greater Birmingham offers an experience that blends authenticity with modern energy. From its civil rights legacy to its thriving arts and culinary scenes, attendees will find a city that is both meaningful and memorable.”
From a tourism and economic impact perspective, the event marks a notable milestone for the region.
“Hosting the UMA EXPO reflects Greater Birmingham’s growing reputation as a premier destination for national meetings and conventions,” said Dan Williams, president and CEO of the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This event will introduce thousands of industry professionals to Greater Birmingham’s world-class venues, vibrant culture and genuine hospitality, while delivering meaningful economic and reputational impact for our community.”
During their stay, EXPO attendees will have the opportunity to explore nationally recognized museums and civil rights landmarks, a dynamic culinary scene led by award-winning chefs, and lively entertainment districts, like Uptown and Pepper Place. Learn more at inbirmingham.com.
