Two of Birmingham’s best are currently in the running for USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025 in separate categories.
Hop City Beer & Wine is nominated for Best Beer Bar after capturing 2nd-place honors in the same category in 2022 and 2024. Hop City has been bringing a stunning array of craft beer and fine wine to the Magic City since 2012.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens (BBG) appears in the contest for the first time, competing for Best Botanical Garden. One of the city’s long-treasured attractions, BBG is a 67-acre urban paradise with over two dozen garden spaces filled with Southern flora.
The 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards contest announces 20 nominees in new categories every other Monday at noon. A panel of relevant experts selects the nominees.
Voting is open for four weeks, ending on the 28th day at noon. Winners are announced the following Friday. One vote per person, per category, per day is allowed. All voting is digital and may be accessed by clicking on the categories above.
In addition to Hop City, previous Birmingham nominations include several nods to Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. FOOD+, Birmingham’s culinary and cultural festival, came in third for Best New Festival in 2023.
