The GBCVB were excited to host the recent International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) North American Golf Tourism Conference in the Greater Birmingham area.
Over 300 golf tour operators from around the world visited for the conference at the BJCC, played Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail courses at Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley, and attended events at Protective Stadium and Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in an all-encompassing effort by the hosts to further enhance Greater Birmingham’s position as a premier golf destination.
Yearly awards are presented at each IAGTO conference, and the GBCVB, RTJ Golf Trail, and Alabama Tourism Department were honored to receive the 2025 North American ‘Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism’ Award.
In attendance to graciously accept the award from IAGTO CEO Peter Walton were Kerry Teague – Alabama Tourism, Sara Hamlin – GBCVB VP of Tourism, Pam Shaheen – Alabama Tourism, and Jonathan Romeo – RTJ Golf Trail.
